What is ProFractional Therapy?
ProFractional uses a laser micro-beam to treat pinpoint areas of your skin. The treated areas stimulate new collagen, enhancing tone and texture. The ProFractional procedure is comfortable with minimal down time.
How does ProFractional Work?
The Profractional laser targets damaged tissue by creating micro-channels beneath the skin’s surface. The body stimulates the healing process in which new collagen is formed. As damaged cells are replaced with healthy tissue, your skin becomes fresher and younger looking.
What areas of the body can be treated?
The face, neck, chest and hands can be treated.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments will vary from patient to patient. Based on your specific needs, your practitioner will customize a treatment plan just for you.
What will happen during the procedure?
Your eyes will be protected with safety glasses and your skin cleansed. When the laser is applied, you will hear a rapid series of snapping sounds. The handpiece will be moved around to different locations until treatments area is covered. The procedure generally takes 15 to 30 minutes.
What should I expect immediately after the treatments?
You should expect mild redness and a sensation resembling sunburn. Your practitioner will give you post care instructions, which may include pain relievers and application of an ointment to keep skin moist.
How long will it take to recover?
You will have mild swelling for about two days. Most patients go back to work a day or two after treatments. Healing times differ depending on how extensive your treatment is. Your skin will be sensitive to ultraviolet light so sun exposure must be avoided. Sunscreen is recommended to promote optimal results.
When should I expect results?
Your skin may feel tight for a few days post treatment. However, for the full effect and time is takes to produce new collagen you will see a noticeable difference 4-6 months following the treatment.
