What to Expect Before and After Laser Hair Removal

Before Treatment

You will be required to have been finished with the medication for seven days before laser treatment if you get ill and start taking an antibiotic.

After Care – Laser Treatment

  • Day 1-5 After Treatment

  • Sensitivity and redness are common after laser hair removal treatment.

  • For the initial five days after laser hair removal treatment, apply aloe gel twice a day to calm, relieve and protect skin.  

  • Shower with a hydrating cleanser twice daily, cleanse the treated area carefully and follow through with aloe lotion.

  • You may experience redness for two days.

  • Apply aloe gel regularly on your skin as it protects from infection and speeds healing.

Until redness is completely gone:

  • Do not apply makeup on treated areas.

  • Avoid scented creams, lotions or soaps.

  • Restrict the use of scrubber or exfoliants, loofas.

  • Avoid both hot or cold water, instead use lukewarm water.

  • Do not shave

  • Avoid swimming pools and spas

  • Avoid activities that may cause perspiration

  • Avoid sun exposure for 14 days after the treatment to avoid sunburn and pigmentation. 

  • Cover up the area and use SPF 30 sunscreen.
