The Skin Care Regime Post Laser Hair Removal

The Skin Care Regime Post Laser Hair Removal

A lot of people choose to remove undesirable hair by using the most trendy laser hair removal method. The method removes unwanted, dark and gross hair from various parts of the body and with this treatment there is no risk of ingrown hair, razor cuts or skin irritation. The laser beam passes the skin and damages the hair follicles during treatment and prevents the development of future growth of hair. The procedure is popular because it targets selectively certain areas with unwanted hair and leaves the surrounding area unchanged.

Post Treatment Care Options

Ice Pack and Aloevera

You may have minor discomfort in your area after laser treatment, such as sunburn and pain. After treatment, the area gets swollen and red, and the use of ice, cold packs and aloe vera gel can help to relieve these pains. In a towel, wrap ice and apply it to the skin. Make an ice massage about 10-15 minutes for 3-4 times a day until the inconvenience disappears. Do not apply the ice pack too long as it reduces the flow of blood and slows the treatment. Aloe vera gel decreases the skin discomfort by absorbing the inflammation. Use it for 2-3 times a day, until the swelling and redness have gone.

Skin Protection

The treated area can be irritated and get worse by factors like sunlight, sweat, and dust. Protection of the treatment area against direct sunlight, avoidance of dusty areas and coverage of the treated area always from direct sunlight is best prevented. Wear a hat to protect the sun if the laser has treated the face area. Sunscreen always be used, avoid sun for eight weeks. Hot baths and showers can raise the temperature to the area treated, so those should be avoided.

Clothing

Using loose clothes prevents the treated area from being rubbed or irritated. The use of loose t-shirts, and pair of loose track pants helps to keep your skin respiratory, happy and comfortable. Makeup can irritate the skin. It is therefore recommended that their use is avoided until redness is lost.

How Many Treatments Do You Need?

It is important, while most men and women need 6 to 8 treatments for optimal results, with spacing of approximately 4 to 8 weeks. While laser hair removal is permanent, new hair growth may in some cases occur.

This is most frequent during hormonal fluctuations, especially during pregnancy. You can always return to our spa for touch-up treatments, if you have any new hair to grow again in the treated area.

Is It Painful?

You should not be in pain, but you should not feel a little discomfort in the sensitive areas (as your underarms). Most men and women describe it like a little tingling.

A topical cream from your local pharmacy before can be applied. Thus, at the time of your appointment the skin will be numb. You can use an ice pack for the same effect as an alternative.

Preparation

Shave the area 24 hours ago of the appointment. The closer you shave, the better it is. Do not shave the area where you want to keep the hair.
