How Does PicoWay® Resolve Correct Pigmented Lesions?
During treatment, the PicoWay®laser applicator is directed at the pigmented lesion you would like to correct. Once the treatment area has been adequately prepared, our laser service provider will deliver short bursts of powerful laser energy to the treatment site. This laser energy passes through the uppermost layer of the skin and is absorbed by the structures that cause pigmented lesions to form. Each burst has a combined photo-acoustic and heating effect on these structures, slowly causing them to break up and disband. As these structures are removed from the body, pigmented lesions gradually begin to fade until they disappear altogether.
What Can I Expect From Resolve Treatment?
Each PicoWay®treatment takes no longer than 20 minutes to complete. Because laser energy is delivered to pigmented lesions in short, strong pulses, patients are able to experience the dramatic results associated with traditional laser treatments without the usual extensive downtime or discomfort.
Will I Need Multiple Treatments With Resolve?
We recommend that patients undergo multiple PicoWay®laser treatment sessions to achieve clear, corrected skin. While the number of treatments needed can vary depending on the location, depth, size or pigment, each of these sessions must be performed between eight and 12 weeks apart.
Is There Any Downtime After Resolve Treatment?
Side effects are usually temporary and an expected part of the laser procedure. The treatment involves low to no downtime. Some common side effects may include redness and inflammation.
